The fraud team at Everest distinguishes itself in pleading. At the Ghent bar association pleading competition, our youngest associate Jasmien Jaques took on 6 other trainee lawyers in a spirited plea.
Jasmien delivered a beautifully structured plea, in which she guided both the jury and the audience through her reasoning with the necessary flair and naturalness, peppered with some humour here and there. She did this in such a convincing manner that the jury decided to declare her the winner.
For a year, the “Pleitwedstrijd Georges Debras” challenge cup will thus once again grace our law firm.
As the laureate of the Ghent bar association, Jasmien will, exactly 20 years after her principal Stijn De Meulenaer (who won the Brussels pleading competition in 1999), participate in the international pleading competition of the Southern Netherlands in Breda in April 2019.
